Nvidia has launched a new set of WHQL-certified drivers for GeForce graphics cards, bringing official support for the Vulkan API now that it has reached version 1.0. Like DirectX 12, Vulkan supports reduced driver overhead and 'closer to the metal' access to GPU hardware, succeeding both AMD's Mantle API and OpenGL.
