Nintendo NX Price: how much will it cost?

We’re just hours away from the big Nintendo NX reveal, and we’re anxious to find out how much the new console will cost.

So far we haven’t had any direct confirmation from Nintendo on the console’s price, but we’ve seen a couple of rumors that paint a pretty interesting picture.

Nintendo NX price in the US?

In the US, the only indication we’ve had on price has come from credit-rating agency Macquarie, which thinks the console could retail for between $300 and $350

The agency took this price as an indication that the console might struggle, since it’s a price that’s comparatively higher than what we’ve come to expect from Nintendo in the past.

Nintendo NX price in the UK?

Our only indication of how much the console might cost in the UK has come from a listing that was made on Tesco’s online store before being quickly removed.

According to Tesco, the new console is expected to cost £349.99 in the UK, but there are a couple of reasons why you might want to take this with a pinch of salt.

The first is the fact that, as mentioned, the listing was taken down very quickly after it was noticed, indicating that it might not have been final.

The second is the fact that the release date that accompanied the listing, December 31 2016, is a far cry from the March 2017 release date that Nintendo itself has mentioned, which suggests that whoever made the Tesco listing isn’t as knowledgeable as we might have hoped.

Nintendo NX price in Australia?

So far we haven’t heard any Australia-specific Nintendo NX price rumors, but based on the rumors above the console could cost anywhere from AU$390 to AU$560.

Bear in mind that the upper price is only so high because of how exceptionally weak the British pound is right now, so in reality the console’s price is likely to be closer to AU$390.
