Twitter reportedly wins streaming rights for NFL's Thursday Night Football

Twitter has reportedly won a deal with the NFL to stream Thursday Night Football games online, according to Bloomberg. Tech companies including Apple, Amazon, and Google, reportedly showed interest in acquiring the rights for these games earlier this year. In February, the NFL announced two-year deals with both CBS and NBC to show five games apiece, and said it was “in active discussions with prospective digital partners” for global streaming rights (that is, not just to paying cable subscribers). Twitter appears to have won that battle.
